The Satellites for Biodiversity Award, Round 2, has granted access to cutting-edge high-resolution satellite imagery donated by the Airbus Foundation, along with ESRI software and essential funding, training and specialised technology support from Connected Conservation Foundation. 

In celebration of National Space Week, the second edition of the 'Satellites for Biodiversity Award' takes flight. Its mission propels the adoption of very high-resolution satellite imagery to address the global loss of wildlife and accelerate habitat preservation and efforts to confront the imminent sixth mass extinction event.

The Connected Conservation Foundation and Airbus Foundation are proud to announce the winners of its Satellites for Biodiversity Award and launch of a Masai Mara Satellite Sandbox to accelerate the application and learning of using VHR data for safeguarding endangered species and natural ecosystems from space.

Northern Rangelands Trust (NRT) and Connected Conservation are safeguarding Kenya's most vulnerable species and natural resources with Africa’s largest landscape-wide IoT (Internet of Things) conservation network.
